Mrs. Stuckey and MRs. Allen

For 45 years, starting shortly after the building opened, Anita Stuckey has managed the school's front office. Jill Thomson and her were a dynamic duo for 30+ years. When Ms. Thomson retired, Dyann Allen joined the team and the office has continued to thrive. 

Stuckey, who is marking her 46th year as an employee of Mustang Schools, wasn't looking for a job in 1981. The building principal knew her though, needed a secretary and asked her if she wanted a job. All of her children and grandchildren were students of Lakehoma. She is now getting to see her first great-grandchild attend. 

"First of all, you fall in love with the kids. You fall in love with the parents," she said. "I just can't imagine being somewhere else."

Allen, is starting her 9th year at Lakehoma. She served as a paraprofessional, then a teacher, and is now our amazing attendance secretary. She is a bright light in the office and helps wherever she can. 

Principals may set the tone for a school, but Stuckey and Allen establish the welcoming atmosphere for children and visitors, working to the background noise of the ever ringing phone and the constant stream of parents, teachers and kids through the office.
